the great machine
The Great Machine played their first show, in their own club in Tel-Aviv (Reality Rehab Center). A few weeks earlier, the brothers Omer & Aviran Haviv (guitar&bass) had met Michael Izaky in a studio, and the chemistry was undeniable. Over the course of the next two years, the group performed non-stop on stages throughout the Tel Aviv area, leaving thrilled crowds in their wake.
In 2013 they recorded their first EP, in 2014 their debut album, and in 2015 the double LP 'LOVE' which was released on vinyl by 'Rock Freaks Records’ in Germany.
The group has the uncanny ability of belonging to multiple musical scenes due to their inability to belong to any specific one. "Rock&Roll" sees them as “Metalheads”, and the Metal scene calls them “Hippies”. These conservative perceptions did not stop them from shaking up the local Indie scene in Israel, while creating an alternative of their own, which gave stage to many other musicians & artists, thus founding the underground label known as 'Reality Rehab Records'.
In the fall of 2016 they headed out on a UK & Europe tour as the opening act for 'All Them Witches’, which paved the way for many more shows across Europe & the UK.
In the spring of 2017 they headed back for another successful tour in Europe, which got them signed by the legendary booking label 'Sound of Liberation'.
The 2017 tour concluded in Leipzig, where they recorded their third album 'Respect', and on the following winter came the fourth album 'Greatestits'. Both were released in 2018.
2018 was a very intense and rewarding year for the group, which included an opening show for Ozzy Osbourne in Israel, as well as numerous Euro shows alongside artists such as – 'Om', 'Fu Manchu', '1000mods', 'Kadavar' 'Acid King' & 'Patty Smith'.
Their unforgettable performance at 'Desertfest London' got them an endorsement deal with 'Orange Amps'.
With the arrival of Covid19, the group quickly understood the direction of things and started an underground music club called 'Ashram' in Tel Aviv, where they were able to perform with many other bands as well as record their upcoming fifth album ‘Funrider’, which is set to release on April 2023 by the Berlin based label 'Noisolution'.
Alongside the release of their new album and following three years off the road, The Great Machine is fueling up for the upcoming touring season, and is ready to charge the stages and conquer the hearts of all by doing what they do best!
